Energy efficient products
Energy efficient products provide the same level of service
as you require from standard products. However, energy efficient products
do so in a manner that requires the use of less energy. This will save
you money on your electricity bill while simultaneously protecting our
environmental resources. Making Energy Star-approved purchases are one
simple way to ensure that you are making wise energy choices.
The Energy Star logo is only given to energy efficient products which
have met specific standards set forth by either the Environmental Protection
Agency or the Department of Energy. This means that, depending on the
appliance, they meet the specifications of energy use and still perform
as well as any other option. Along with proper energy levels, items
with the Energy Star label are responsible for a minimal amount of greenhouse
gases. This is important because excessive amounts of greenhouse gases
can raise planet temperatures to baleful levels.
Energy efficient products which may qualify for the Energy Star label
include major home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators,
and dishwashers. Battery chargers, cordless phones, and televisions
are some examples of electronics which are capable of being certified
as well. The label has also been extended by the EPA to cover new homes
as well as commercial buildings.
